Biography

Valerian is an Edmonton-based mixed media and multi-media artist. Possessing a diversified background in fine art, from painting to knitting to fashion design, Valerian creates an innovative, unique vision that balances the emotion of abstract expressionism with the charm of folk art.

With an interest in the liminal space between sleeping and waking, Valerian’s many works encourage the viewer to lose themselves in the dreamy haze of brushstrokes, inkstains, and loose ends.

She holds a deep love for her community, and she serves on a number of local organizations in addition to her art career.
